My Dear Reggie, indeed

Letter from the British ambassador in Moscow, April 6 1943.

There is copy of the original over here, but its quite hard to read.

Tri Training Log: 3

Here’s what I’ve been up to since last time:

May 11: Swim, 1km ~30min May 12: Run, track workout. 15min warm up. 4×600m, 4×400m, 4×200m. 15min cool down. This just about killed me. May 15: Bike, hill workout. ~19miles May 16: Swim, Run, Swim. 800m swim, 5k run, 400m swim May 18: Yoga. It didn’t seem hard at the time, but I ached for several days afterwards in the tummy region. Ouch. May 19: Run. Track workout. 10mins warm up. 3×600m, 3×300m, 3×200m. 10min cool down. Bike. Time trial. 12.5miles, 40min. May 21: Run. 4.5miles, 55min. May 22: Swim. 1500yds, 40min. Frozen Goodness

Mark made the best dessert this evening: frozen grapes, mixed with whipped cream and some brown sugar. Serve cold from the freezer.

I know, it sounds weird. But it tastes great.

I had a small bowl after dinner, and we put the rest back into the freezer for future consumption. I don’t know how much will be left tomorrow though, because I keep going back and taking a couple more. And a couple more. And then a couple more. Mark’s been doing the same.

Standing before the open freezer door, snarfing down the frozen grapes, Mark paused momentarily between mouthfuls.

“Yeah, once I threw up after eating too many of these.”

We hesitated for a split second, pondering this thought, before diving back into the freezer, spoon at the ready.

Thinking…

  • Fantasia better win.

  • Woo! I’ve got tickets to see ‘Prisoner of Azkaban’!

  • About short trip possibilities for September within Europe. We’ve got 5 days – Naples or Prague? Or somewhere else entirely?

Addition

I finally uploaded pictures from Australia and China.

You can see them in the gallery over here.

MT feedback

Or, how I personally use Movable Type.

I’m running this weblog, a photoblog of sorts, (which I haven’t updated in far too long), and I have an old sideblog of ’small things’ which died many moons ago, but which I may ressurect at some point. So that’s two seperate blogs and the sideblog which pulls into the main page using a php include, and therefore does not count as a seperate entity.

I’m the only active author accessing any of the weblogs.

This puts me squarely in the ‘free’ Movable Type user area, or the ‘Personal Edition’ option, if I decide I want the support and access to other fee-based services.

I’ve contributed to MT in the past, and currently have no intention of moving my weblog to another publishing tool. I’ll either continue with the free version, or pony up the $69.95 (minus some discount for my previous contribution) for the personal license.

Time Suck, circa 1991

This very clever flash program emulates the operating system of the Apple Mac I used to churn out papers towards the end of high school – complete with the googley eyes that follow the cursor, MacWrite, MacDraw and several games!

I wasted just about as much time playing Tetris and Pong today as I would have back in the old days when I was procrastinating about writing my Extended Essay, toiling over Geography field work write-ups or tapping out essays for my English Lit class. Good times.

Travel Tales

Hijacked and helpless – Rebecca Stewart, an ex-Ngee Ann colleague and friend writes about her trip to Mauritania in ‘The Age’.

18 months later, The Age published the article. But hey, better late than never.
