While I was out running this morning down at Town Lake, I spotted a girl about my age, fast-walking with a friend. She was wearing a careworn t-shirt and shorts, but had rolled the t-shirt up and tucked it into her sports bra, leaving an expanse of obviously pregnant belly beneath.
This probably wouldn’t have caught my eye at all, except that the t-shirt read “What Happens On Spring Break…”
I chuckled to myself, and glanced at the back of her shirt as I passed. The back read “…Stays On Spring Break!”.
I rather preferred my initial interpretation.
[I ran 7 miles this morning, which is 11.2km. I believe this is the furthest I have ever run in one go. And I wasn't even that tired at the end. I was pretty pleased with myself. Maybe those remedial PE lessons are paying off after all!]
You may remember Rosie’s Evil Cat Nemesis, Nosy.
Today, with a little help from cousin Maggie, Rosie finally overcame Nosy, and the world is a safer place once more.

Didn’t take me long to devour the latest Harry Potter offering. I know there are people out there who haven’t finished the book yet, so I’ll try to keep things spoiler free.
A few spoiler-free comments: - I think it was a great book. ‘Azkaban’ is probably still my favourite, but this was a good story too. - Teenage-wizards-in-love wasn’t nearly as bad as I had feared after all the Cho Chang nonsense in Order of The Phoenix. - It made me cry. - I can only hope the next book comes out soon. The suspense is killing me!
Interesting discussions, conspiracy theories and more information than you can shake a broomstick at regarding ‘Half Blood Prince’ can be found over at web-goddess, and here Harry Potter and the Return to Awesomeness, and also here at this Harry Potter Fan Club Page, which I have linked using a tinyurl so as not to give anything away!
WARNING: If you want to avoid spoilers, DO NOT CLICK ON ANY OF THESE LINKS!! Come back when you’re finished the book though, as the info in these resources provides some good post-Potter therapy.
My run this morning was, well, less than spectacular. I haven’t been swimming in weeks. I have been riding quite frequently, but have been averaging only about 17 miles a ride.
My next triathlon event is 10 days away, and I don’t feel very prepared. Or motivated.
Amy wrote a letter to her self that my self would be well advised to take note of.
It’s time to give myself an attitude adjustment.
I just booked plane tickets to go to Seattle for a weekend in October, arriving early Friday afternoon, departing on Sunday afternoon.
I’m primarily going to attend Sarah A’s batchelorette do, which will be held on the Saturday, but I’m thinking I may have some time to scope out a few coffee shops, wander round Pike Place and maybe meet some Seattle-based blogging friends? What else does one do when in Seattle for a few short days?

About half-bloody prince time! I’m so sick of trying to avoid spoilers. La la la.
I got pulled over by the police this morning at 5.51am on a totally empty road in dry, clear conditions, whilst going under 10mph, and was issued a $185 ticket for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.
A little icing on the top of a craptastic weekend.

There are photos up from the 30th birthday weekend.
